Did you know that your local Citizens Advice Bureau is a third party reporting centre for Hate Crime?

We work with Lancashire Constabulary and True Vision to provide a confidential and FREE service where you can get the support you need.

Hate Crime Report it Here! True VisionWe want our community members and clients to feel safe regardless of ethnicity, disability, sexuality, gender or religion and should you ever fall victim to a hate crime or incident know that you can confidentially report it here.

You can make an official complaint or Police report at the centre and we can also submit anonymous reports so that an incident can still be recorded but you don’t have to go through the whole process.

Reporting incidents is crucial as the police need accurate reporting and statistics so that they know the hot spots for this type of crime.

Even anonymous reports can help focus police resources to tackle the issue and we urge people to come forward for support if they are a victim or witnessed an incident.

What is a Hate Crime?

Hate Crime BadgeA hate crime is a criminal offence targeted at a person because of hostility or prejudice towards a person’s actual or perceived;

  • Disability
  • Race or Ethnicity
  • Religion or Belief
  • Sexual orientation
  • Transgender identity

This can be committed against a person or property.

The victim does not have to define into any of these groups, but the perception that they do must exist for it to be a hate crime with an element of hostility or prejudice.
