Essential Household Goods Support Scheme
Please read all this information carefully.
Under One Roof provides support for residents who need help to maintain or establish a home. It provides free essential household items to those individuals/families who do not have access to sufficient income or funds to meet their immediate needs, along with help and advice in seeking additional support.
To access an award for essential household items Applicants must:
Be aged 16 years or over.
Live within the administrative boundary of Lancashire County Council.
Have no income or be on a low income, such as means tested benefits.
Be in a priority group.
Not have access to sufficient funds to meet their immediate needs or those of their dependents; and
Need access to essential household items to help maintain or establish a home.
(Under One Roof will take into account any previous awards of support when assessing an application)
Please note that the scheme provides second hand or recycled goods and whilst Citizens Advice Lancashire West can assist to complete the application, what will be supplied if the application is approved, is at the discretion of Under One Roof.
Please complete our online enquiry form and we will be in touch to make an appointment for the application form to be completed, either face to face or by telephone. Before the appointment date, we will send you a secure upload link and you must provide the following information within 7 days or Under One Roof will not be able to assess your application.
Evidence of income/benefits received that also shows your name and address.
A copy of your tenancy agreement if you are in rented accommodation. If you have not yet moved in, you will need to supply a copy of your offer letter.
A copy of a recent utility bill showing your name and address if you are not in rented accommodation.
A copy of your most recent bank statement(s) for all accounts you hold.
If you live with a partner and bank separately, you will need to supply copies of their statement(s) for all accounts held.
If any other adults live in your home aged 16 or above who work or claim benefits, you will need to supply copies of their statement(s) for all accounts held and evidence of benefits.
Important information, please read:
Bank accounts include savings accounts, reward accounts, Monzo Pot accounts and any accounts that are not used but remain open. Bank statements must show your name and address and show one full month of transactions prior to the date of application.
If you or any member of your family are claiming UC, you will need to supply the most recent full statement for each person showing the total amount received, all the payment elements and deductions.
